Huntley’s Cave

Some thoughts on Huntley’s cave. Home to mighty midges, great blocks of schist and aging trees. A place where as a climber I have felt both elation and terror. Looking up through the blocks it looms over me and I begin to feel unbalanced and assured, and yet it calls me in and holds me tight. Like painting, as I begin and settle into trusting the process, movement and decisions begun to flow. l feel strong and empowered as I move through the landscape.
